There are 80 (!) new House and Senate bills and resolutions filed since last Friday. Another We've done our best to categorize them below and pick out a few highlights.
The Help Not Harm (gender transition services ban) bill, after clearing the Senate, is now sailing through the House. Also: 50 (!) new bills submitted between the House and Senate.
The gender transition services ban passes the Senate and now awaits the House. A proposal for continuous state budgeting, and a push to cap property valuation increases through a constitutional amendment.
No rest for the weary...we have 9 new bills on education, plus another 20+ in other areas. Bills are starting to make their way back from committees to the floor for full votes ( see Top Stories).
Good news! The Topeka Buzz has been streamlined: bill details are now published online in DataHive. Previously introduced bills are hitting committee hearings this week including school vouchers (senate education committee), the "help not harm" act (gender transition services ban), and the public school ad valorem tax cut.
More than three dozen new bills were introduced, from various tax credits to an e-Verify employer requirement to tax deductions for gambling losses. Oh, and another 300+ pages of appropriations bills to debate! This issue is getting too unwieldy again to include any committee coverage–read the Top Stories below for more info on how we plan to address that.
